Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport
Located on Xiamen Island’s northeastern coast, Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN) is about 10 kilometers from the city center and offers both domestic and international flights. There are two terminals at the airport: Terminal 3 (T3) and Terminal 4 (T4), the international flights will land only at T3 and the domestic flights will land at both T3 and T4. The airport is well-connected to the city, with convenient options like bus services, taxis and ride-hailing services to reach key areas. Airport shuttles are also available, linking the airport to popular hotels and major transit hubs.
Xiamen North Railway Station
Situated on the mainland in Jimei District, Xiamen North Railway Station is approximately 20 kilometers from downtown Xiamen. As a major high-speed rail hub, it provides rapid access to cities across China. Travelers can easily reach Xiamen Island by taxi, ride-hailing apps, or the Xiamen Metro (Line 1). Bus services also operate between the station and various points around Xiamen.
Xiamen Railway Station
Located centrally on Xiamen Island, Xiamen Railway Station is close to the city’s main attractions and business areas. It serves both regular and high-speed trains, offering an accessible option for travel within the Fujian Province and beyond. Public transportation options include taxis, ride-hailing services, and multiple bus lines connecting to various districts in Xiamen.

From Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN)
Taxi/Ride-Hailing: A direct taxi or ride-hailing service takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately CNY 40-50. You may show the notes below to the taxi driver.
Bus service line 641: walk approximately 600 meters (10 minutes) to T4 Bus Station (T4候机楼站 in Chinese) and board the bus heading toward the Xiamen International Exhibition Center. Ride for 20 stops and get off at Banlam Grand Theater Station (闽南大戏院 in Chinese). From there, it’s a short 200-meter walk (3 minutes).
From Xiamen North Railway Station
Taxi/Ride-Hailing: A taxi or ride-hailing service takes about 30-40 minutes, costing approximately CNY 70-90. You may show the notes below to the taxi driver.
Metro and bus service: From Xiamen North Railway Station (厦门北站 in Chinese) to take Line 1 to Lv Cuo Station (吕厝站 in Chinese) to transit to Line 2 to Software Park Phase 2 Station (软件园二期站 in Chinese), then walk to He Cuo (何厝站 in Chinese) bus station on Lv Ling Road (吕岭路 in Chinese) to take bus service line M7 or M39 or line 641 for 3 stops and get off at Banlam Grand Theater Station (闽南大戏院 in Chinese). From there, it’s a short 200-meter walk (3 minutes).
From Xiamen Railway Station
Taxi/Ride-Hailing: A direct ride takes 15-20 minutes and costs around CNY 30-40. You may show the notes below to the taxi driver.
Metro: Take Line 1 to Jiangtou Station (江头站in Chinese) and switch to a taxi for the remaining 10-minute journey.
If this is your first-time visiting Xiamen or even China, we strongly recommend you take a taxi to the venue. Please note that e-payment (WeChat Pay or Alipay) is now popular and widely used in China. Cash payment is also accepted, but there might be no changes. Credit cards will not be accepted for the taxi payment. Thus, you are advised to get some RMB cash (small notes will be with you for the taxi. Furthermore, if you are a non-Chinese speaker, you are also suggested to print out or keep an image of the Chinese “Taxi Note” for your communication with the taxi driver, to avoid any inconvenience caused by language barriers. |
