Oceanic mesoscale and submesoscale processes may enhance the biological carbon pump during their intensified stages in the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre (NPSG). However, Carbon export associated with episodic intensified eddies and fronts is still less characterized because these episodic small-scale processes were usually out of reach by ship-based measurements. Here we showed that BGC-Argo floats with high spatiotemporal coverage can fill observational gaps in characterizing the episodic carbon flux and its attenuation. Our findings revealed the influential role of intensified eddies and fronts in strengthening the carbon storage in the NPSG.
