The marine atmospheric boundary layer (MABL) turbulence, which is essence of air sea flux, has its own unique features due to the influence of surface waves. By comparing the turbulence within MABL with the turbulent theory developed in laboratory, we report that the swell can exert a pronounced wave-related peaks in velocity spectra. Because the wave coherent perturbation can carry lots of stress , we found the upward wave coherent stress leads to larger wind gradient compared with the logarithmic profile while downward wave coherent stress leads small wind gradient.
